LISTEN TO THE LITTLE VOICE OF KNOWING

Hey [wlm_firstname], listening to your inner voice is essential, but sometimes you worry it’s not right or you second guess yourself and ignore it.
To unblock your intuitive self you need to start paying attention to it. You need find a balance between listening to your intuition and your concrete decision making processes. When you start to even up the balance you will start to see the benefits of listening to your inner voice, and in turn, this will increase your confidence and you will stop questioning yourself so much. It’s a learning process. It’s a process of building trust in your inner voice, learning to trust that you already know the answers to what is needed in your life.

PRACTICE

If you’re not used to turning the volume up and listening [wlm_firstname], then I invite you to start with some exercises in introspection. Introspection is when you examine your thoughts and feelings, or if you think about it in a spiritual context, you might say it is when you examine what’s in your soul.
Even Aristotle said “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
When you start to do this [wlm_firstname], I want you to listen to your whole human experience. By that, I mean I want you to pay attention to the sensory experiences you’re having, and pay attention to what’s happening in your body, what your thoughts are telling you, what emotions you experience and so on. You want to try to bring all these experiences together. Primarily though, you want to pay attention to what’s happening internally, rather than externally.
So [wlm_firstname], take some time out, to begin with, you want to be doing this exercise in a place and at a time when you can concentrate. Later, when you’ve grown your introspective muscles a bit you can do this exercise anywhere, while you’re in your morning shower, while getting dressed, or having your coffee. But for now, consciously set some time aside, sit comfortably, take three deep breaths and quieten your mind. You want to be able to hear the answers as they come.
[wlm_firstname] I want you to think about a topic in your life, a situation or a question that you want some guidance on. I’m going to speak a series of questions. I want you to ask these questions of yourself, then I want you to listen for the answer. It will likely be a short answer and to the point. It will be the first answer though. Maybe after you have heard the first answer your mind will offer you a couple more answers, dismiss those, that’s no your intuition, that’s you second guessing yourself, it’s your mind doing its rational thinking. No, you want only to pay attention to the first answer.
Ok, ready? Take three deep breaths, I’ll wait….
  1. Is this really what I want?
  2. Is this taking me toward my soul’s purpose, or away from it?
  3. Is what I am doing about this bringing joy or fear into my life?
  4. Will this person / place / situation nourish me?
  5. Does my soul feel inspired by this?
  6. Are my intentions in line with my soul’s purpose?
  7. What can I do to improve, enrich or enliven this situation?
  8. Who am I listening to about this?
  9. Are those I am listening to aligned with what I seek to achieve?
  10. Do I need to change or transform anything?
  11. If so, what do I need to change or transform?
  12. What is my next step?
